Thank you so much to the Monroe County Public Library and everyone that came out to learn about Ramadan this Sunday! It was a beautiful celebration, and we had a wonderful time! Thank you as well to the 10th Street Market and Deli for the yummy baklava!

Children and parents at the event got to listen to stories exemplifying the activities and rituals of Ramadan; play instruments to songs about sighting the moon and waking up before sunrise to eat; paint Girgian bags (a bag used for door-to-door candy collection in Kuwait), create lanterns, and enjoy delicious treats like cocoa-covered dates and baklava! The room was festively decorated and everyone had a wonderful time! To learn more about the Openhearted Kids initiative, click the picture!
